Is it a variety or a varietal?   Variety is the range of grapes. Turkey has dozens of international varieties and more than a hundred Turkish specific varieties. When one of those grapes is used as the sole ingredient (% can vary) you have a Varietal of which many in Turkey are worth seeking out and drinking.  Some of my recommendations are below.
