Acikara by Likya Vineyards

This is one of three of Acikara's Arkeo series - local varieties (ancient even) that are unknown to vintners outside of Turkey. All three are excellent but this one is the top for me.

⭐️ 82 / 100

🍷Color: Deep purple, dark, very dark,

🍒Fruit: Nose of Turkish molasses (pekmez), on top of blackberry and blueberry, undertones of cherry.

🍃Spice: Very slight hint of oregano, maybe licorice.

👅Body: Medium

🌳Oak:

🍁Tannin: Medium low.

🧬Acidity:

%⚗️Alcohol:

🎬Summary: Very smooth, aromatic nose, medium like but with more spice/ complexity than the "Kara" Turkish varieties. Its a medium red, not anything like a Cabernet or Merlot, but more complex than a Pinot Noir. If you find it, grab and try its a beautiful unique expression of Turkish grapes.
